Jim Ouimet

Greetings!  As a native of Mammoth Lakes, California, I have been raising, training, and running sled dogs for over 18 years.  As a US Marine, outdoorsman, mountain climber and dog musher, I have developed a keen interest in outdoor survival techniques.  My dog mushing experiences have led me to work with such greats as Iditarod champion Libby Riddles and mushing legend Joe Reddington, Sr.

I take pride in my sled dogs and my business.  With nearly 40 dogs, all of which are either Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and Alaskan Huskies, I breed and raise my dogs at my kennels with a few exceptions, ensuring that my dogs are hard working and of course, very loving. 

Over the course of the years, since I've owned Mammoth Dog Teams, I have sparked the interest of many newcomers to the sport of mushing through classroom presentations for the local grade schools as well as leading in-depth clinics.  I have been thankful for being able to support several benefits over the years, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and Camp Del Corazon.

Over the years, sharing dog mushing with people, either on day tours, or overnight trips, has been an extremely rewarding experience for me.  I am looking forward to sharing these experiences with you!!
